BIO ELENA RENDEIRO

Born in Madrid, she studied Fine Arts at University UCM. Receptor of an Erasmus Scholarship in Athens, Greece, and having started a PhD in Art History she was granted a Full Scholarship by La Caixa Foundation for postgraduate studies in the US. She enrolled in the MFA Degree Program with a major in New Forms at Pratt Institute NY, from which she graduated with a Summa Cum Laude.

Upon her return to Europe, she participated in several competitions winning the “Generaciones” Prize (Foundation Caja Madrid), Rendibu Video Art (Spain), and Purificacion Garcia Competition. She has exhibited in places like La Casa Encendida, el Círculo de Bellas Artes (Madrid) DNA Gallery (Berlin), Pulse NYC Art Fair, Art Basel, VIVA Festival (Shangai), Copenhaggen International Art Fair, Hot Art Fair, Volta Basel (CH), Diva Fair Paris, etc.

Her works were acquired by museums like the Brasilea Stiftung Museum in Basel (as part of its permanent collection), the Museum of Contemporary Art, Malaga (CAC Museum) & the Caja Madrid Foundation.

She has collaborated on big scale sculptural projects for architects such as Rafael de la Hoz and AGI Architects, both in Spain and in the Middle East.

KAZAMA Project is her latest and most personal creative work which she believes embodies, in the most minuscule object, the multiple layers of art, architecture, design, and freedom.
